Silk - How To Clean A Silk Tie

If you ve ever owned a silk tie, you know that they are difficult to tie and even more difficult to clean. The truth is, silk ties really aren t meant to be cleaned as they are extremely delicate and can fall apart if you just look at them wrong. Even a little rough treatment in simple handling can turn a silk tie into trash. Having said that, if you absolutely must clean your silk tie, then here are few tips to make the cleaning process as easy as possible and still have a tie left after you re done. If your silk tie should get a stain, remove it immediately. Waiting any length of time will make removal of the stain virtually impossible. One thing you don t want to do is expose your silk tie to water. Water and silk is like turning on the gas in your home and then lighting a match. What you should do is take a soft paper towel and put a very small amount of stain remover on the towel and then dab it gently onto the stain. Then use the paper towel to gently blot the stain. If you haven t gotten rid of the stain, which is very likely, then have the tie dry cleaned. The truth is, they re not meant for dry...

Sensational Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

This is an absolutely spectacular recipe for chocolate oatmeal cookies. Though oatmeal cookies are not considered a cool, modern dessert by many, there is a reason that traditional recipes survive over the decades. How To Survive Being Overwhelmed

Know your vision, your goals, and your plans because these help you set priorities. Each day, identify the task you must accomplish and make that your top priority. Also, set aside time to invest in your future, working on important things that you will need later. If you have yet to write out your priorities, then take time to do this. It could be the most important hour that you spend in your life. Be fiercely protective of your time. Make sure each new commitment adds value for you. Do what is necessary and then stop. Rather than ask yourself What can I do. ask What can I not do. Avoid low value tasks, new projects, and distractions. Then tell people about your decisions. Huge amounts of effort are wasted by people trying to complete tasks that someone else decided to ignore. Even if you ride an accelerating treadmill you can step off once in a while. Give yourself a two minute break when you close your eyes, rub your neck, or meditate. Set a date with family members for a meal or an activity hint: put this date on your calendar as if it were an important business appointment, because it is . When...

Three Great Mind Power Practices

Your mind power is not your IQ. It is not the innate potential of your mind, but the actual and habitual use and development of that potential. In other words, it isn t how smart you are that counts, but how you use it. Here are three things you can do to make your mind more effective. Brain Exercises Regular use and exercising of the brain has been shown to generate new neuronal growth, and even halt the decline of mental function that often comes with age. Try numerous brain exercises, and when you find the ones that you enjoy, make doing them a habit. A study will someday prove that old people who do their crossword puzzle every Sunday morning maintain their mental function longer. Some other ways to increase that mind power: - Do mental math while driving. - Look around at things and redesign them in your mind. - Sing a song, inventing the lyrics as you go. - Learn a memory technique and use it daily. Discipline Yourself A recent study, reported in the journal Psychological Science, found that while IQ level did correlate with academic performance, there was actually a much stronger correlation with...
